Birthday Birthday Birthday! Yes it's my birthday! It'll be ending in like 2 minutes but what the heck. I'm still in my birthday mood. See I've always loved birthdays so let me highlight some of my highs and lows of my day today.
My birthday celebration actually begun like a day earlier whereby my girlfriends took me out for Korean food. I was like crazily craving for anything Korean or Japanese. Kimchi! Salmon! You name it, and I'd just drool. You get the picture right? So they were like the kindest people to plan to go out for a girl's night out for dinner and yes for Chatime! My first experience with Chatime and I'm predicting more and more to come in the future. So dinner was fab and I was thinking how lucky I am to have such great friends. Then just as I was about to rest, they come barging in, lights off, and goes 'Happy birthday to you!' and the song goes on. How not to be touch? I had really no idea! I mean I did mention like birthdays you need to have cake to cut etc etc. They actually went through the trouble of getting me the birthday I experience back home, it just warming to know there's family away from the family.
I've always been a twi-hard (just a moderate 1, not too severe), and how nice to spend the day watching one of my most anticipated movie of the year? So Michelle in the midst of her busy medical posting kept me company the whole way through from watching the movie with me, to having sushi for lunch with me and to top it off by having Karambrunai buffet dinner with me, I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you! (Karambrunai buffet dinner was crap btw, like high class economy rice.. a lil disappointed) All in all I couldn't have asked for a better roommate when I've already have the best!
Moving on to presents! Tell me who in this world do not love presents? I've got like so many of them this year. Shocking really. Some from people I hardly even spoken to also. Thank you so much! How not to feel loved? One that really surprised me was that 1 gift that I was actually looking for myself. How well he knows me. But in the end all's in the past. I think it's really time for a closure and just move on. It'll still take some time but I think I'm on track now. Slow and steady. As for the others, me love you guys so much! =)
I could not have asked for a better bunch of friends whom called, texted, posted and wished me directly or indirectly. Even the simplest 'Happy Birthday' is enough to put that smile back on my face. Some caused a tear in my eye, happy tears of course. How not to be happy tears if your sis says you're like the best, and she'd love you unconditionally. I may not know a lot of things, but one thing I'm confident to say is that I'm the luckiest person in the world to have such loving family. I'd never trade them in for the world!
As for the low points, let's just keep that for another day and leave this post on a high note. Since it's thanksgiving like yesterday, let's just say a few things that I'm thankful for:
1. Thanks for blessing me with the most loving, understanding and supportive family anyone could ask for. I couldn't be luckier.
2. Thanks for blessing me with friends whom are always there for me, and care for me at my high times and low times in life. I do not need hundreds of friends, just friends who'd be there for me when I need them and I'd be there when they need me.
3. Thanks for blessing me with good health. Visiting hospitals daily have really put another prospective into my life, how blessed I am, and I should feel thankful for this.
4. Thanks for blessing me with good food, good shelter and all basic necessities. All the basic requirements are fulfilled to live life, and I think I'm living a good life and I should be thankful.
5. Thanks for blessing me with all the memories and experiences with which I could learn and grow. Some may be bitter, some may be sweet. But if we've never tasted the bitter, how could we appreciate the sweetness. So although I may complain a lot of times, I am thankful.
There's so much more that I'm thankful of, but I think I'm having another bout of writer's block. So I shall leave for now. Till the next post!
