We'll be missing him..

So after a long long time, finally I could meet up with my old frens!! Well all of us gathered for Mr Chu, our maths teacher who just retired recently, as in on 23/4/08. We sure r a lucky lucky lucky bunch to be d last batch tat he taught. Hopefully we've made him proud n summarized his teachin career on a good note.
So venue for our gathering, a place of nice scenery, good surrounding(according to a few reliable sources) is Chardin Seaview Restaurant. It's been quite sometime since I last went there, cos d food there can be quite pricey. Without blabbin on n on n on about the gathering, let's have d pictures do d talking. Cos as izzy wizzy said, pictures speaks louder than words.

Actually there was still one more item i din manage to catch it on film. That'll be d butter prawns. D oat flakes was nice though it was kinda tricky peeling d shell off.

After dinner we chatted on n on as if we hadn't seen each other in ages(it does seem like tat though). We caught up with wat each n every1 of us had been doin. Thinking back last year tis time we were studyin our ass off to ace our examination. Now it just seem like so long time ago! Hahaha... After we finally stopped chit chatting it was picture time! After photography session, we had our cake cutting ceremony. The cake we had?

Then we indulge in our cakes as well as did our rounds of 'yam seng' cheers-ing for our future.. traditio, tradition.. We even made Mr Chu take out d candle using his mouth from d cake! Hahahaha.. As sporting as ever, Mr Chu really did it! Mrs Chu too were so sporting, played along with our plan of having her feed Mr Chu the birthday cake. Both of them are so nice. Another round of chit chatting n a lil acapella karaoke(mostly by me) we said our good byes and parted ways..

Meeting up with old friends really stirred up lots n lots of memories back in form six. Thinking back it seems like yesterday I just finished SPM. It has been 3 years already? Time sure flies. Comin into form 6 i admit i had my doubts. But now I'm leaving with no regrets. I've made so many priceless friendships; Gained so much experiences such as being tortured in school(I did!), having teachers giving u such a hard time u could hardly breathe, being squashed by mountains and mountains of job(wow I'm saying as if form 6 is a ruthless boot camp! mayb it is.. hehehe);Learnt not to crack under pressure; Learnt to study my ass off everyday(actually more like playing every single day.. eh! not playing my ass off k?); Learnt to sleep an average of 5 hours a day and still have energy to crawl out the bed at 6 in the morning to go to school! okay okay! i kno u get it..
But still it isn't that bad as i put it. My friends and teacher really really helped me a lot! One of them of cos is Mr Chu. He really helped not only me, but every single one of us. He kept pushing us, helping us to achieve the unachievable; always there for us whenever we needed him; never once complaint about how hard it is to teach us(we can be a restless bunch at times). All in he's really a great teacher, fantastic, fabulous in his own style. He always hold onto his principle of treating every student as equal, neva judging them by their background, always right on time for his classes(for real!). So his retirement is really a loss for the society now. It's really hard to find another teacher just like him.
Lastly, thank you so much Mr Chu! All you've done for us r really priceless n we appreciate it from the bottom of our heart. We'll miss you definitely~

Busy, busy karleen

Remember when i use to complain n complain n complain n complain(u get d picture) of not havin anythin to do. Being so bored at home that grow dusty d(over-exaggerating dah!). So anyway, it's been 2 weeks(already!) that I've started work! Time sure flies when u have lots(n i mean lots n lots n lots) to do!
So anyway, first day of school was freaky! Imagine me in a green baju kurung(mummy's one), wandering around d school, dunno wat to do. Hahahaha. Actually is more of walking around d school finding out wat exactly i hv to do. So anyway, my workload is not actually that heavy. Just that I'm teachin 5 classes, 3 of it form1, n the reast form 3. No pressure. Form 1 is BM wit altogether 98 students. N d lovely lovely teacher had to set karangan question for d monthly exam! first eassay i mark is already exam question! shit~ Just my luck. As for form 3 altogether i have 45 students. Subject? History! No pressure no pressure.. Hahaha.. Pening kepala with their folio la. Nanti tersalah bagi arahan cannot go oops! Is more like alamak! Then kena hantam by all students cos they hv to do over! PMR exam affected. Still no pressure, no pressure.
Besides teachin. What else. Oh yeah! I'm also a form teacher(so tambah lagi paper work!), a library teacher(my office is d library where not many teacher knos i'm there), a scout teacher, a photography n documention club teacher, as well as a netball teacher. To add to all this, i dunno y so 'lucky' la, last week i was d teacher on duty. Just my 2nd week of teachin, i'm d teacher on duty. My luck la i guess. Whenever i come back from work, I'll be bumped out. If i jz sit on d sofa, next thing u kno I'll be visiting my dreamland! Hahahaha.. But despite all these, i still enjoy teachin. Despite d gruesome process of preparing for classes, d process of wondering wat to wear d next day, thinking how to answer weird weird questios of students, marking 98 bm essays. I still fairly enjoy being a teacher. But ask me to be a permanent teacher? no way man! No offense to d teachers. It's just that it's such a noble profession. Mayb I'm jz not cut out for it. I think my frens will be noddin in agreement. Somemore so jahat say they wanna come into my classes, not to support, but to laugh at me. b-( all of them.. wakakaka..

In a span of 2 weeks, I've been to 2 camps! I think i missed camps a lot, so jump at d chance of being able to help in camps. D first was held on11-13/4/08 at a youth centre in teluk kemang. Tis is for d form 1 kids of Chung Hua high. It was loadsa fun. But i dunno whether it's a curse or wat. Everytime camp sure fall sick! damn~ But luckily i got well by mon, jz that voice slightly sexy on mon la. Luckily not over sexy if not dunno how i'm gonna teach la. Jz slightly sad i couldn't join in most of d activities held at d camp on sat, n tat was d main day! haiyoyo.. Karleen, karleen. apala lu? Interacting wit d kids was loadsa fun. U get to c so many of their antics! Jz like a small kid, in d process of entering their teens. D period where guys n gals chased after each other, whacking each other up n down, guys hating gals n vice versa. U shud c how some of d kids fight with each other! scary~ guys against gals. But nothin major la. At d beginning of d camp, all d kids were being so restless. Complainin here n there. Not to blame them oso la. Cos all rich kids. U shud c d fon models, d amount of gameboys n psp we took away from them during d whole time duration of d camp! somemore all expensive fons! gila! n they r only 13! But then on departure day, tissues was passed all around, n it was a really really emotional farewell. If u were there, i bet u'd shed a tear. I did. Hahahaha.. Mayb 2..

So d next camp. Tis is SDASA camp. which happen jz tis weekend. 19-20/4/08. So during d whole duration i was at school taking care of my 10 pengakap boys la. Yo i talking like their mother like tat! More like sista la. I'm still gettin used to d title cikgu. so d 2 days 1 nite camp i really had a blast. D kids were so cute! n they were ever so willing to learn! Looking at them cooking during d cooking competition was hilarious! They were mixing up tis n tat but at last they managed to cook a decent meal! miracle! hahahaha. U ask wat they did? imagine them addin oil to d wok, be4 d oil is heated, they put d egg in to fry! Haiyoyo! Mana boleh? Then looking at them race around school for d 'amazing race' sdasa version was loads of fun. They kept goin to d wrong place, n tryin so hard to figure out their clues! Hahahaha. At nite they had malam kebudayaan, n d pengakap not knowing wat to do did shuffling n got scolded by teacher cos it's not 'budaya'. Kesian~ then we had bbq, then tis mornin perbarisan n closing ceremony all. All in it was not bad la. But d chung hua high's camp more fun. Hahahaha.. shhhh.. I din say that. Getting a chance to set up camp, building fires is a lot of fun. I'll miss tat. But i really had a lot of fun in both camps actually. although tiring la.

Besides all d camp that has been goin on, somehow i managed to sneak out to have some fun. Hahahaha.. First up, Yss's party. That's Yeoh Shim Shian. It was more like a class gathering than a birthday party to me. Met so many o my old classmate as well as school mates. So it was loadsa fun. I had a chance to catch up with see mee which i have not seen for ages. then there's Amy, Ai li, Ken Keat, D twins-ter yan n ter huan, Arvin, Jia Wei, Yen Ping, Didi, Ngoo, n loads more la. Really had a gr8 time catchin up. N jz havin gals talk. Wit see mee, aili n amy la. Known 4 so long, somemore nv c each other so long d. Reminisce d old times. Macam so tua pula!

Then after that it was chai hoe's birthday. Again did a small gathering in secret recipe. I finally got to meet pj after a long long long long time! It was so nice to meet up with my f6 classmates n we chatted n chatted n chatted d whole nite. more like until they closed la. It was fun.
Oh yea! be4 i forgot. Tis is wat i had 4 tea.
